Mytrah placed an India-focused subsidiary - Mytrah Energy Limited (MEL) - on the AIM segment of the London Stock Exchange in 2010, raising $80 million from institutional investors such as Capital Group, Blackrock and Henderson. Since then it has raised over $1 billion of mezzanine and senior debt, to fund construction of 1000 MW of renewable energy.

Mytrah Energy (India) Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Guernsey based and London Stock Exchange listed MEL in India, aims to own and operate 3500 MW of renewable power in India.

Mytrah Energy (India) Pvt Ltd, presently has total wind portfolio energy capacity of 1000 MW.

These assets are spread across fifteen wind farms in eight states - Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The company's portfolio was built using a combination of 'turn-key' developers and in-house project development, with wind turbines purchased from leading international vendors.

Mytrah Energy (India) Pvt Ltd sells power mainly to state grids through 13 to 25 year Power Purchase Agreements. In addition, our 100.5 MW project in Tamil Nadu sells power directly to Industrial consumers on long-term agreements.

Mytrah Energy (India) Pvt Ltd has the largest wind data bank in India, being the only independent power producer that has over 200 wind masts across the country.

In addition to the wind capacity expansion, development of the Company’s solar pipeline continues, with PPAs signed for 422 MW in Telangana, Punjab and Karnataka and has begun construction works at few of the sites in Telangana.

We have operations across 8 States in India, with 543 MW of wind plants currently generating electricity and 300 MW in construction. To provide the raw material for future growth, we have installed over 150 wind masts across India, giving us a huge data bank of information. We combine this with our in-house understanding of the electrical grid system to plan our future wind farms.

 

Today we have 3500 MW of projects where we are satisfied with wind and grid information. These are now moving through our development process, providing us with the opportunity to grow to 7 times our current scale. Further projects are entering the pipeline constantly.

Ravi Kaias - Chairman & CEO

Ravi Kailas, the founder of Mytrah Group, has 25 years of entrepreneurial experience in various sectors including telecom, software, real estate linked financial options and infrastructure.

He was the founder of a number of start-up companies, including Zip Global Network, a telecom services company; Xius Technologies, a telecom software company which launched the world's first inter-operator prepaid roaming service, and Altius, a real estate financial options company.

Ravi Kailas has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Osmania University and a Master's degree from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.

 

Rohit Phansalkar - Independent Non-Executive Director

Rohit Phansalkar is the Chairman and CEO of RKP Capital, Inc., a US based merchant banking boutique. He was previously the Chairman and CEO of Osicom Technologies, an optical networking company.

He was the co-founder, Vice Chairman and CEO of Newbridge Capital, a private equity firm investing in India, and formerly the Head of Energy Finance Group at Oppenheimer & Co. He was the Co-head of the Energy Finance Group at Shearson American Express, Managing Director of Bear Stearns and Managing Director at Oppenheimer & Co. He was also the Founding Chairman of The India Fund.

He has a Bachelor's degree in Science from Michigan Technological University and a Master's degree from the Graduate School of Business, Harvard University.

Rohit Phansalkar is a member of the Audit and Nomination committees and is the chair of the Remuneration committee.

 

Russell Walls - Independent Non-Executive Director

Russell Walls has a strong financial background, with extensive experience as a Financial Director, and possesses a broad range of experience across a number of sectors. He has recently served as Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Aviva plc, one of the leading global insurance companies, Non-executive Director of Biocon Limited (healthcare), and Signet Jewelers Ltd (retail).

He was formerly Group Finance Director of BAA plc (transport), Wellcome plc (pharmaceuticals) and Coats Viyella plc (textiles). In addition, he was former Senior Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the audit committee of Stagecoach Group plc (transport) and Hilton Group plc (leisure and hospitality) and a former Non-Executive Director of Delphic Diagnostics Limited (medical) and Mersey Docks and Harbour Company (transport).

Russell Walls is the chair of the Audit committee and a member of the Remuneration and Nomination committees.
