SD-4X is the first of two planned appraisal wells to be drilled at the licence as SDX looks to get a better understanding of the SD-1X structure
North Africa-focused oiler (LON:SDX, ) has spud the SD-4X appraisal well at South Disouq, Egypt.
The well is the first of two planned appraisal wells in SDX’s 2018 drill campaign on the licence.
It is expected to take up to 30 days to drill the well, which, if successful, will be completed, flow tested and connected to the infrastructure already being developed at the SD-1X discovery location.
SDX made the SD-1X discovery just over a year ago and will use the upcoming two appraisal wells to further its understanding of the extent and size of the hydrocarbon accumulation there.
SDX has a 55% working interest in South Disouq where it is also the operator.
